Adams project "Amplitude" uses a range of conventional and unconventional design solutions, combining and manipulating these materials and pushing them to the absolute.
Working with materials like stainless steel, glass and concrete generate new concepts for internal and external architecture with the use of industrial laser cutters to create unique patterns that expose the human body. Layering unconventional materials onto fabrics create tactile surface treatments and offer protection against external environments able to generate new futuristic concepts for the fashion industry.
Adams work is very experimental but that enables one to understand materials better with the mentality of what else can this material do? It is important as a designer to think of the future not in a year’s time but far in advance and understand what consumers want. The concept behind his collection is to protect yet expose the human body and push materials where they have never been before.
We’re in a time where consumers want more personality from the products they buy, a new sense of connection. Adams collection titled ‘amplitude’ pushes materials to an absolute by combining a range of multidisciplinary processes creating innovative surface treatments and new materials. This collection along with a trend forecast for 2019/2020 recognizes the advancements in technology we are dealing with and predicts a tactile and sensual experience for both the fashion and interior industry in the near future.
