Amys focus and interest lies in experimenting with paper. It is a material used by everybody and yet is over-looked within society. The aim for this project was to adapt an existing material, giving it a new role in the design world; this, in turn, provides a new outlook for contemporary sustainable products.
As part of her final degree project Amy was investigating into paper and how she could use this remarkable material to create new and exciting potentialities. Having used paper throughout her degree she came to the conclusion that this substrate is an important aspect in the majority of her design work. She investigated into how she could transform this mundane, overlooked material into something exciting and unique and provide it with a new context in a design perspective.
Paper has an extensive list of applications and its purpose within various products throughout a range of fields is countless. ‘Paper In All Its Forms’ exploits the beauty of paper through a collection of surface products; layered, as a composite, as a collection.
